Denise's Flowers for Book One

Look at these!!! Not only did Denise send a picture of her pretty ruffled map flowers, she sent a picture that shows how she made them. I'm glad to see somebody else working on their pages. I've been working on what seems like an endless amount of covers and pages for the fatbooks. I'll have to set them aside pretty soon if I want to get anything done around the house for Christmas. Keep those pictures coming, it will make the time move faster, well, at least it will feel that way.

Opening Up a Second Book

Well, Book One is filled and since people are still interested, I'm opening up the list for a second book just like we did in 2008. Look to your left and you will see the two books we did then. The covers will be different and people in the first book are welcome to participate in the second. All I ask is that if you do both books, you make different pages for each.

We've Got a Theme!

The 2011 Retreat and Fatbook theme is "In the Garden." I will be sending out a call for participants to the Retreat YahooGroup next week and we are already half full. I'm not sure if I want to host a second book, but I will hold off on deciding until I see what kind of response I get from the main group. However, I will predict that we will fill this book so if you are already on the list you can safely bet that you will need to make 40 pages. So get cracking.

Hampton 2011 Fatbook is a GO

There will be another fatbook for Hampton Art and Soul. Yippee! I was so bummed about not going to Hampton this year that I thought about not doing the book again. However, I saw the lineup of classes and decided I had to go. And there is no going to Hampton Art and Soul without hosting a fatbook. So there you go. It will be another all-original book, but I do not yet know the retreat theme so the fatbook theme is currently a mystery. I will be announcing the fatbook to the Art and Soul YahooGroup in a few months, but in the mean time people can sign up on the fatbook YahooGroup. I can't wait to get started and I promise to make a lot of entries in this blog.

Deadline!!!! and Johanna's pages

Today is it, if you have not already posted your pages, please contact me as soon as possible.

And look at these great pages Johanna did. I love how some of the pages for this fatbook are collage-like with traditional wonderland images and other pages are more artsy. This is going to be a really fun book.

Please make sure you let me know the status of your pages because you don't want to miss out on this and with a book this small, every page counts.

Tomorrow is the Day & Anne's Pages

Lookie lookie at what Anne sent me.

Pages are starting to roll in and Anne has been my biggest cheerleader so I'm posting her pic first. That big rose hangs off the side and looks amazing.

I have a little more than half the pages in my hands now so I'm hoping that tomorrow will be a huge mail day.

Tar, Plaster, and Paint

I'll be using all of those things on the cover. Curious?? Well, I'm not giving any more clues. You will just have to wait and see.

I have already received five sets of pages, only twenty more to go. The database is updated and I'll work on it daily so if you want to know if your pages have arrived, just check it out.

Hampton 2010 - Here We Go!

I thought I wouldn't be in Hampton this year, but things have worked out so that I can. Enough of you said you wanted to do a book so we will do it. This is NOT the official book being hosted by Art and Soul - this is not the pocket skirt fatbook. What this is is an all-original, standard sized (4"x4") fatbook with a theme of "In Wonderland" or "Art & Soul." I like to give you an option for the theme in case you aren't inspired by the retreat theme. The "In Wonderland" isn't limited to Alice's Adventures, you can do something from Looking Glass if you like. I know the cover probably will be Looking Glass-ish. If I haven't heard from you yet and you want to participate, the deadline to sign up is April 4, and the deadline for pages is May 10. I can't wait to see what you all come up with.
